Vertical SaaS Weekly Roundup (July 10th, 2022)

Every week (or so) we will share the most interesting Vertical SaaS news with our community, we'd love to hear your thoughts, feel free to hit reply or send us a note at info@verticalsugar.com

  1. Aptean acquires Produce Pro -  With the acquisition of Produce Pro, Aptean builds upon its Food & Beverage ERP offerings with additional functionality focused specifically on the fresh and perishable industries. Link
Another strong value-added aqusition in our perspective adding to Aptean's 20+ Vertical cloud solutions.

2. Tebra raises $72M at $1B+ valuation: Tebra provides a suite of cloud-based tools designed to help healthcare practices manage their day-to-day work more efficiently. According to the company, its software is used by more than 100,000 independent practices that provide care to more than 90 million patients in the U.S. Link

Tebra was formed by merging Kareo & PatientPop two venture-backed startups. We're wondering if over time it will be disrupted by more niche vertical-focused companies in the healthcare practice space. For example Psychiatry-Cloud or Luminello for psychiatric clincs.

3. Jonas Fitness Acquires Club Solutions - Club Solutions from Fiserv was acquired last week by Jonas Software, Toronto.

"Jonas Fitness has a buy and hold forever strategy" we think this is the way to win. Developing great Vertical Cloud solutions takes time and to gain loyalty from customers you have to promise loyalty yourself.

4. Teamworks raises $50M -  Teamworks, a Vertical software platform designed specifically to help sports teams manage operations, recently raised a $50 million Series D round. Link (paywall)

"For Delta-v and GC, the follow-on investment is largely a bet on vertical software as a service". More VCs are also understanding that Vertical SaaS is the future ;)

Stay Vertical!
